Well. I’ve been asked to write a short piece both to introduce myself and presumably to publicly humiliate myself, by trying to catalogue my life’s under-achievements. So here goes…

My love affair with music began fairly late in the grand scheme of things. I didn’t even pick up a guitar until I was sixteen. I then spent the next ten years trying to learn how to play the damn thing, before realising I’d never be as musically gifted as the majority of other sixteen year olds coming through the ranks.
As if to live up to a typical musical stereotype, and my apologies to those concerned, I then took up drums in 1999, and have been playing in Bristol based band “The Shmir” ever since (shameless plug I know, but someone has to do it!).
Over the past year or so, I’ve been amazed at the volume and quality of live bands to come out of Bristol and wanted to not only help other bands to promote themselves and their music, but at the same time gain a journalistic portfolio for myself. Bristol Live Music presented itself to me as the ideal opportunity to do just that. Hopefully this already immensely successful website (sorry…another shameless plug!) can grow further from my input.
